鸾凤翔毛雨淋漓
当时却被雀儿欺

依旧还君整羽衣
The phoenix‘s distinguished feathers soak with rain,
Even the common bird mock and laugh at him.
Suddenly the rains cease and the sky is clear again,
Its plumage continues to be a regal feather robe.
Note/注:
– 鸾凤是类似凤凰但不是凤凰的神鸟。This is a majestic bird related to the Phoenix or the Roc, but it’s not the Phoenix itself. The choice of word here is simply to emphasize that even a majestic bird does not always have it going well all the time.

鸾凤被雨之象。凡事待时大利也。
