A traveler returns, having braved the winds and rains.
Laboring like a homing swallow,
Which builds in vain a shelter of clay,
That collapses and disappears whenever it rains.
签意/Meaning
燕子衔泥之象。凡事劳心费力也。
Like a swallow which tries to build a nest with clay to protect itself against the rains, your efforts will be in vain.
解曰/Interpretation
千般用计 晨昏不停 谁知此事 到底劳心
Even when one tries every ways and means, slogs hard night and day, all efforts will eventually be in vain.
